Ball Bearing
Free-Wheel Clutches
Technology
The dimensions of GMN ball bearing Free-wheel Clutches are
according to deep groove ball bearings DIN 625 bearing sizes
62. The double sealed "2RS" type shows exactly the
same dimensions.
Design With our ball bearing Free-wheel Clutches we combine
a bearing like configuration of inner and outer ring (made
from ball bearing steel AISI E 52100) balls and retainer with
a narrow, space saving insert element. Please note that the
load capacity of the unit is smaller than of the original
bearing. The "RS" seals are adequate to bearing
"RD" seals. They are not capable to seal against
liquids. With the size 6203 is sealing in just one side possible
to keep the original width of the bearing.
Function:
For proper function
of the complete unit the correct gap size is inevitable. Please
note that the correct gap size will be achieved when the clutch
is pressed onto the shaft and into the housing with the correct
tolerances.
Torque:
The stated torque capacities
in the data sheets show the optimum values. The torque is
transmitted reliably when the clutch is mounted within the
specified tolerances. Please note that the tolerances of the
keywayed inner rings of series FKN are specified to achieve
some press fit. The reason for this is that the keyway alone
would not be able to transmit the full torque. Please have
also a look at torque capacity - insert element.
Lubrication:
Open GMN ball
bearing clutches are shipped rust protected - not lubricated.
Sealed ball bearing clutches "RS" and "2RS"
are shipped grease lubricated for life time. Please note also
our indications for lubrication.
Orientation:
A single RS-seal
is mounted beside the insert element. Please see installation
for the definition of the engagement direction.
